4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

By default, all your financial data is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This means:

  • Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it
  • We cannot access your transaction data
  • Your data is tied to your browser and device
  • Clearing browser data will delete your transactions

4.2 Cloud Storage (Optional)

If you choose to sign in with Google:

  • Your data may be synchronized to Firebase Cloud Firestore
  • Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
  • You can delete your cloud data at any time by signing out and clearing local storage

4.3 Security Measures

  • HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
  • Firebase Authentication for secure Google Sign-In
  • No server-side storage of unencrypted financial data
  • Client-side only processing (no backend servers)

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies and web beacons to collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.

  • Data Portability: Export your transactions, budgets, and recurring rules as CSV files

  • Revoke Google Sign-In: Sign out and disconnect in your Google Account settings

7. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

8. Data Retention

  • Local Data: Retained indefinitely in your browser until you clear it
  • Cloud Data: Retained until you sign out and delete it
  • Analytics: Aggregate usage data may be retained for up to 26 months
